TONGUE MANEUVERING

The tongue is a vast muscle that is at your disposal for tweaking differently pitched drones and beats. Basically any movement of your tongue against the palette, and against the teeth and lips will change the drone.

Experiment with this and see what kinds of sounds you can make.

The heart beat:

Without the didge, hit the tip of your tongue against your palette as if you were making the ‘d’ sound in the alphabet. (i.e. ‘dog’)

Now try the same thing while droning into the didge… keep in mind that your tongue is separate from your lips, so moving it should not interrupt the drone.
