The beauty of the didge is that all the sounds that are created come from within you. No valves holes or strings, just you.

Specifically, there are five ways of getting different sounds, these are:

Use of the tongue

Use of vocal chords

Changing the rate of air going into the didge

Changing the size of your mouth chamber (mouth chamber refers to the inside of your mouth, which is separate from your lungs)

Changing the tension of your lips

Combing these five simple methods allows for infinite variation and possibilities with your instrument.

Remember the following things:

Remain relaxed

Maintain an open posture to keep your lungs open

Each piece of your body that you use to didge: lips, vocal chords, tongue, and lungs are all SEPARATE entities!!!

For example, while droning using your vocals in no way should affect your lips vibrating.

This takes some getting used to, but the more you play, the more coordinated your didging members will become.
